Depression

SET YOURSELF FREE FROM DEPRESSION

What comes first the chicken or the egg?

A question often asked when we really can’t find the original cause of an experience or event. Depression is one of these issues that still alludes a true understanding of what triggers it. As I draw on my experience working with people for the past 20 years, I would like to share with you the deep understanding I have gained about the condition labeled depression so that hopefully it will help you the reader. How it starts, how it deepens and what it actually does to our physiology which then perpetuates the problem.

It is widely understood that when a person with depression is tested, it shows that there is a dysfunction in their body chemistry. Because of this finding, the depression is then blamed on a chemical imbalance which seemingly has occurred from somewhere no-one can actually pinpoint. We blame food, environment, genetics, but there is no evidence that any of these are the cause. Because we can’t identify the cause it therefore becomes almost impossible to affect a solution. What is seldom mentioned however is that the way we think has an instant affect on our body chemistry and that when we change the way we think, we change this very chemical make up.

WE FEEL DEPRESSED BECAUSE OF THE WAY WE THINK

AND THE MORE DEPRESSED WE FEEL

THE MORE DEPRESSED THOUGHTS WE CREATE

A never ending  treadmill until you can stop the thoughts

from causing this self destruction.

To set yourself free from this self perpetuating doom and gloom you must find a way to stop the thoughts. To retrain the mind, to look for all the good rather than seeing the world through the eyes of judgment always coming up with the negative. This world and this life is filled with wonderful things if we just begin to look for them and celebrate each one as we become aware of them.No matter how bad things seem, there is always something we can find to be grateful for, something to lighten the load no matter how small.

It is the focus and attention we give to the bad things in life or the struggles or the fear of what could or might happen that keeps us trapped in that very experience.

At no time will I tell anyone that it is easy to take control of the way you think, but it is possible with dedication, discipline and determination it can be done. In my book The Secret of Life (view sample pages) I give the reader many user friendly tools to take back your power and take charge of life rather than to stay a victim to circumstances. As you begin to take back little by little your life, your chemical imbalance will begin to alter and you can and will eventually be able to be depression free.

It is the powerlessness of depression that i is the underlying factor that gives people the sense of despair, but once you begin to change even one little thought which makes you feel better an amazing energy will lift your spirit. Keep your mind focused on things that make you feel good and eliminate all thoughts or conversation that makes you feel bad is a great way to begin.
